Not having enough food/water to sleep for "that many hours" is annoying when you can clearly just break up the sleep cycle into smaller chunks without having to refill food or water and sleep the same number of hours. I'm not sure what the algorithm behind this is, but it's clearly not calculating the amount of food/water/oxygen/etc. necessary per / hour of sleep when one can just wake up and immediately go back to sleep until the desired time.
