Waste basket user experience is lousy, requiring you to stand in just the right spot and also having to get the item into your hand first. How about a neat interface where you can access the inventory as usual? If you think a high-tech interface on a waste basket would be immersion-breaking, just give us some high-tech waste disposal (or recycling) device, or add waste recycling functionality to the 3D printer or some such.
