The sandstorm has some issues (in my opinion). My biggest issue with it is that it hits instantly. I'm getting a weather warning and my character is already getting blown around, whether I'm inside shelter or not. In the most recent one it blew me across a sealed room in a ruin. I would assume the same weather system that can tell me 6 hours in advance if there's going to be lightning could see a sand storm building.
