Sometimes all are collected in to a single inventory unit, other time anything from one to three in an inventory unit, with plants spread out and filling the inventory - each with the same seedlings at the same stage! Also, when automatically setting requirements for fields or domes, do not reduce the soil allocated - that is not a consumable, so costs not resources to leave in place. Setting that to miniumum at the same time as the water etc. just makes it harder to put in the next crop.
