Hello to the development team,
Congratulations on version 1.0! For the future of the game, I'd like to propose a vision that would transform the experience: moving from the isolated survivor to the role of Base Leader, making our settlements truly vibrant.
NPC System and Colonial Life: The arrival of colonists (AI) who must be housed and fed. This would bring the base to life and give meaning to all the infrastructure we build.
Commander Role: As leader, we would manage colonist morale and assign them tasks (maintenance, cooking, farming).
Control Room Module: This would be the heart of command for:
Managing Power Outages: Cutting power to non-essential areas to save the greenhouse or infirmary in case of a power outage.
Centralized Maintenance: Remotely monitoring the wear and tear and dust levels of all equipment.
Health & Wellness Hub:
A gym to maintain physical fitness in low gravity.
A fully equipped infirmary to treat colonists and yourself.
Infrastructure & Realism:
Safety: Added barriers/guardrails on the platforms and direct connection of the platforms to the airlocks.
Self-sufficiency: Water recycling system and control of the greenhouse shutters against radiation.
Adding staff would transform Occupy Mars into the ultimate space colony simulation. Thank you for your passionate work!
Why the "Base Leader" idea is excellent:
Natural progression: At the beginning, you repair your own cables. By the end, you're in your control room and you order an NPC to do it while you monitor the oxygen levels.
Replayability: Managing humans is much more unpredictable than managing machines, which prevents boredom once the base is finished.
