I'm at v1.0.12 public beta. Inventory menu can be open when pressing short key on the Heavy Rover's map menu. It's good while sitting on the vehicles but building menu can be open as well. It's also good thing because Heavy Rover can build structures... I think that these menus can be open while sitting on all vehicles. I can't open these menus via short keys when sitting on the vehicles without clicking the map on the Heavy Rover. At least, it will be good opening my inventory, map, tech tree and log menus while sitting vehicles. Accessing the build menu isn't necessary on the vehicles I think...
