On the steel platform, it's only possible to power the machines if there's a solar panel on top of them... and if it were possible to bring power from a distant battery without it being on the steel platform. The ECU should have an option to input power from a distant source. This way, it could draw power from a solar panel on the ground to the ECU and power the machines without needing a solar panel on the steel platform itself. And by the way, large tanks aren't very easy to install on the ground, only on specific types of ground.
