Uranium centrifuges seem to have a bug where if you fill them with uranium and start the processing, then hop in your rover and go resource gathering for a day or two, when you return the uranium chambers will be empty and there will not be any fuel rods waiting for you to pick up. Everything works normally if you stay at the base and pick up the fuel rods shortly after they finish processing.
