Large Solar Panels Useless and Too Expensive The large solar panel is a nice idea, but it's too inefficient. Two medium-sized solar panels can provide just as much energy over a day as one large solar panel, but they are more space-saving and economical. Large solar panels need significant improvements to be worthwhile in the game. They either need to provide much more power during the day or they need to be redesigned to achieve maximum efficiency, for example, through a special design that better directs sunlight onto the solar cells, or by making them more flexible, such as being able to be mounted on or attached to other base structures, or by equipping them with features like an integrated battery.
