The game gets into a strange state where it thinks the left mouse button is the right mouse button and shows the right mouse button menu instead of the interation the left mouse button normally has. I have to save and load the game to get the correct behavior back. What triggers this is unknown other than it happens while I type these feedback messages. Night vision and the map. These two do not work together. If a player has night vision on, the map is barely discernable. Why does a play have to exit night vision mode to look at the map and actually be able to read it? I would think it was capable of setting to allow someone to see it in night vision mode as well. before when a well had an extension and the extension was underpowerd, the well still produced while the extension did not. Now nothing produces if it is under powered. Example well with a single extension to produce oxygen gets 7 watts instead of 10, nothing is produced. Previously the water would be produced and no oxygen would be because the extension did not have enough power to run. Since the new wind turbines are such low power producers and one cannot add the largest to power water and oxygen without and transformer, how about teh sabatier well extensions having ports to power them? Then we could add a large wind turbine for each extension and still be able to power it while exploring Mars instead of running out of boards to power the transformers. I notice that the framerates become true garbage when I run into one of these areas with a massive amount of resource rocks that are way oversized. What ever is making them or what it takes to have them made and in memory is just destroying performance. I tried in a previous build to drill them down, but they are so large it had to be done by hand because they were too big and buggy to fit into the rover tailer. I think if this concept is going to be kept around you really need to address it with not recycles little rocks that are just scaled to insane numbers. Optimize it to not cause the FPS to turn to garbage when a player runs into one of these areas. Make it so drilling breaks them down to reasonable chunks instead of scaled up buggy garbage rocks that are bigger than the normal rocks found. | ![]() | 23.56 | 2023-09-04 12:06:51 | ||
Traveling performance still sucks. I understand loading resources takes some computing cycles, but can't you put them on background threads and spread the compute power to the game and loading? It just is horrible to have a great FPS and then in the middle of traveling it drops to single digits for a completely unplayable experience. If it is possible I try to put the game in pause mode to let the FPS recover and once it is back up to decent FPS continue on. Broken boards. I like that this is a new concept in the game. I find it disturbing how difficult it is to learn that this is an issue though. When it is an item at the beginning of a chain of items that has been working a while, it can take days in game to learn that something is even wrong with the chain and then to find out why takes even longer. Having some indicator that something is wrong, like when things are damaged they leak or smoke or have some other visual indicator. In the map they have indicators that their health level is not full, but a broken board I have not found any way to know that is the problem other than eventually finding it. While typing the last feedback message, character just standing there, the helmet broke and I nearly died. How is my character having interactions and nearly dying just standing there while I send feedback? Shouldn't the game be paused and no interaction be happening? Is there a keyboard combo that instantly cracks helmets that is passing through to the game instead of being captured by the feedback screen? ATV relocated? I had my ATV parked by my base entrance plugged in charging. When I loaded the save it was on the other side of the building at a funny angle and obviously not plugged in any more to charge. Seems like the reload coordinates are way off. | ![]() | 25.35 | 2023-09-04 10:50:35 | ||
I finally got to the large windmill. I like the concept, but I feel like the power generation is not quite right for the already set requirements of electricity usage in the game. Just a bit too low production. I believe I understand that they were lower production because they produce day and night, but it still feels wrong to have to add ecu which takes a small electric board just to power a well with oxygen out in the field when we rely on finding electric boards and cannot produce them.
